Achilles tendon rupture advise ?

Yesterday, I managed to rupture my achilles playing tennis. The orthopedist advised me that I could have a surgery to repair it or go into a cast and I have until tomorrow to decide. What is your advice as to the best option?

DocPod 		Unfortunately, I can't help much. All the research done on this issue pretty much shows that the outcome between conservative vs surgery is the same, so it is not going to make a lot of difference which approach is taken. Sometimes it just comes down to the preference of the doctor and if you want surgery or not.
