How can I heal my cracked toenail properly?

Hi there -- I have been compulsively picking my left toenail for about over a year or so, and I am seeking medical advice. The toenail itself went through trauma on a past trip, by accident a door was swung into it, causing a slight crack in the middle.

I have OCD in general and I began to get bothered when I glanced at the cracked nail, so I would pick at it. This would also happen when I was in a state of stress, the scratching/picking caused a little relief. At this point there is clearly damage that I have done to my nail and I'm not entirely too sure on how to go about it.

I have done a lot of research on self help methods in order to stop, and from what I found I understand I just have to stop and it will grow back. I have stopped my self from picking and once in a while I will catch myself touching the nail, but I never scratch it anymore.

I've been applying Nutra Nail 'Growth Formula' (w/ Green Tea and Acai Betty). It helps moisturize the nail for quicker regrowth. It's been helping slightly.

I wanted to get an opinion and if there is any way I can have the nail grow back properly.

DocPod 		There is nothing more you can do apart from leave it alone.
What the final nail looks like will depend on the extent of damage (if any) that was done to the growing area (matrix) at the base of the nail.
