Nerve damage and swelling in my toes?

I had surgery on my 4th and 5th Toes almost 9 weeks ago. I was having hammer toes corrected by moving the tendon. Well I was in serious pain after the surgery and couldn't walk because it hurt so bad. Went to the doctor and he loosened bandages and that helped some. Well now it's 9 weeks out and u can walk just fine but my fourth toe is so sensitive. If anything touches it itakes me want to cry. Even a sheet touching my toe hurts really bad. I can't wear any shoes that have straps over toes or even tennis shoes bc all shoes besides flip flops touch my toe. My fifth toe doesn't hurt but is numb. Both toes are still atleast twice the size they should be as well. My doctor says this is all normal and my nerves are just over sensitive. What is going on and what can be done?

DocPod 		At this stage, I suspect there is very little that can be done until things settle further. Some pain relief meds might help. It is a little uncommon for it to be this bad postoperative, but does happen. Keep monitoring it and keep in touch with the doc
