Soccer toes ?

Hi,

I'm 32 and am a soccer player. A few years ago, my big toe nails started cracking horizontally through the middle whenever I played more than one game per day. This happens consistently and isn't related to trauma, like getting stepped on. I've tried numerous types of shoes and sock combinations -- cleats, no cleats, turf shoes, multiple socks, thin socks, etc-- without marked improvement. Recently, in addition to the nail cracking, I've started getting intense pain (big toes only) and the nail turns black and blue along the toe nail bed after playing. Again no trauma and my shoes are high quality and fit well. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how to fix it?

DocPod 		Its definitely a shoe fitting issue - mostly likely the foot is moving around too much in the boot.
