Toe nail falling off. ?

I think I did some damage to my toenail during a tennis tournament last May. It was purple and eventually came off beginning around the cuticle. It grew again over several months and I have not had a problem since. Then, just today (nine months later) it has started to come off again at the cuticle. This time there was no damage, no sorenes and nothing out of the ordinary. Why would it occur again?

DocPod 		The most likely reason is that the growing area (matrix) of the nail was damaged when the nail fell of the first time. This could be an ongoing problem.
