What can be done for Onychorrhexis?

My dr told me I have Onychorrhexis and the ends of by toe nail keep splitting. I read a lot online about what causes it, but there is not much on what to do about it that actually works. Any advice?

DocPod 		Onychorrhexis is mostly a normal part of getting older. They are longitudinal ridges in the nail plate. Sometimes there might be an issue with an underpinning medical problem that I assume your doctor has addressed.

There is really nothing that an be done for them. For this problem there is nothing you can put on the nail to strengthen it.

The biggest problem with them are the splitting at the free edge of the nail as the nail grows out. The best way to deal with that is to keep the nail cut short on a very regular basis.
