I am overweight and 74 , I have just been given hard orthotics to try and turn my walking outwards. I am experiencing terrible pain in my back and above the hip on right side (the worst side), also in my knee. Whilst I did have pain in my knees etc befor ?

DocPod 		Foot orthotics change the way you walk. That means using muscles, ligaments and joints in a way that they are not used to walking. When first getting foot orthotics, you typically need to start using them very slowly and increasing their use over time to allow the body to adapt and get used to the changes.

This could be your problem, so cut back on their use and gradually increase their use over a longer period of time.

Occasionally, foot orthotics do over-correct and may need to be adjusted.
