I have toenail fungus on both big toes. Every so often there will be pain underneath nails. What is it and what can or needs to be done. Have had the fungus many years and have had topical and or medication for it to no avail. ?

DocPod 		The pain is most likely due to the thickness of the nail, but without seeing it it is difficult to say.

Whatever treatment is used, it can sometimes take up to a year and the chances of a reinfection are high.

You really need to get it seen to by a good podiatrist or dermatologist.
