Toe pain months after break ?

Broke my pinky toe back in September. It seemed to heal fine. I had no pain for several months. About 4 weeks ago , it started hurting again. I can feel blood pumping to it. I measured it, and it is about 10% bigger than the other toe. Sometimes it gets really red, but sometimes it is normal color also. I have been icing it frequently, but that has been no help. Thanks.
