holes in walking sneakers over the big toe ?

I think I have over pronated feet but it's confusing what to do to fix. My big toe on both feet (more on my left) make big holes in the top of my sneakers, shoes, etc. I no longer run but walk approx 8-10 miles a day and this is driving me crazy and a bit embarrassed at my shoes condition, please help

DocPod 		Most often that is due to a "hyperextended distal phalanx" in which the end of teh biog toe bends upwards. There is usually not a lot to do to fix it except surgery.
