To amputate below the knee leg of 97-yr old diabetic woman with gangrene or not?

97-yr old grandma has diabetes but normal heart. Right toe got injured/infected and was amputated. But toe wound got infected again and now has gangrene, fetid smell, blackened skin and pus. Dead flesh creeping up leg but from knee up blood circulation is still healthy. Was recommended for amputation below knee but patient is old and currently with low nutrition (loss of appetite and not drinking).

DocPod 		Based on the limited info provide, yes. If the surgeons are advising it, then the option of not doing it could have a worse outcome.
