question about heel pain ?

No prior pain before this morning. I got out of the shower this morning, dried myself off, took a couple of steps, and then POW! Extreme pain under my left heel, on the bottom of the foot. It was an intense burning, made worse my flexing my foot upward (toes up), especially with weight on it. It is slightly better now (4 hours later), but I am getting through work (at a hospital, lots of walking) by limping and walking with flexing my left foot as little as possible. Flex it too much, and the pain flares back up. It is pretty localized to a small area on the bottom of the heel. Any ideas what happened, and what I can do the alleviate the pain?

DocPod 		Without an examination its hard to say; but the most likely is a strain (or even partial rupture) of the plantar fascis
