Why is my toenail orange?

My fourth toenail seems to have an orange color to it and there is also a build up of skin under it. It also sometimes hurts when I squeeze it. I started a new job in August where I am up and moving on my feet all day and I wonder if that caused part of the problem. My dad has thick toenails that a doctor has to trim for him and also diabetes runs in my family. Should I go see a doctor?

DocPod 		The most likely reason is a fungal infection or onychomycosis. If it is, the sooner you get on to them the easier it is to treat, so yes, go see a Podiatrist or Dermatologist.
