Achilles tendonitis and cortisome ?

I have had Achilles tendonitis from running on and off for several years. It has now got to the stage that I am having trouble running. My doctors suggested that I get a cortisone injection, but I have read that this may be dangerous. Has anyone experience of this?

You right, cortisone is not really a good idea into the achilles tendon. Have you had physical therapy? - if not I suggest you see one.
