Has anybody had real/personial experiance with sinus tarsi syndrome?

I have read what is out there on-line. But have yet to hear from anyone else that has had any real experience with "STS". I have had debridement through open incision. And cortisone in the sinus tarsi area.( in the name of "sinus tarsi syndrome") But other then a head to toe infection that hospitalized me for 2 weeks. And reduction of some serious popping from the sinus tarsi area. I have yet to be made well. Can all things in regard to the ancle be explained? Or is there some unknown causes for pain that they can not see or detect? I am being sent for yet another 2nd opinion as they ponder fusion as a last resort. Is there still mystery in this since still??

Yes, i have been diagonosed with Sinus Tarsi syndrome STS, after a ice skating injury.

Nothing is detected in MRI or xrays, After two cortisone injections, my doctor is mystyfied and wants to do an arthoscopy. Reluctant to surgery i have been living with pain for almost 18 months now. The pain occurs walking barefood on uneven surafaces, such as grass or brick roads.

Has anyone else experienced STS , or know its cure ?
