I have an infection on my toe, it may be an ingrown toenail. What will the doctor do to it, and will it hurt?

I am soaking my toe twice a day and putting antibiotics on it, I am seeing a podiatrist tomorrow morning.

If it is a really bad infected toe caused by an ingrown nail he will cut the hangnail part out and yes it's gonna hurt like a beeotch !!!

If it isn't real bad he/she may just clip a "V" notch in the middle of the nail to allow it to grow out, which will hurt till it grows out.
