I need to know if it is Gout or Not?

My grandfather has been diagnosed with gout about three months ago, and began to receive treatment. He was placed on Allopurinol and Colchicille and began to suffer side effects to the Allopurinol. He suffered huge weigh loss and his hemoglobin dropped. He was taken off of the Allopurinol and his hemoglobin levels went back to normal. Now his feet and legs have swollen to a plity and passes out frequently. A new symptom that has a risen is, shaking spells where he seems as though he is suffering a seizure but is responsive. This has made us believe that he might be suffering something neurological. If anyone can help us we would be very thankful.

Moderator 		Gout is simply a swelling of the joints. It usually manifests itself in the right big toe first. It is caused by excess uric acid (drinking alcohol aggravates it)
