would Sural nerve injury cause numbness top side of great toe, between great toe and 2nd toe and top of foot to arch ?

July 30,09 I fell and broke my tibia near my ankle, 2 days after the injury I started having severe cramps of my toes and numbness of foot from arch to toes. I no longer have the cramps and the numbness is now only top of foot, and between great toe and 2nd toe. My othopedic doctor says it has to be from my back and only coincidence it began after injury. Then he said there could be some Sural nerve damage but very unlikey in nonidsplaced fractrue.

The area of numbness that you are describing is the area that gets its nerve supply from the sural nerve.
